Denis Buteau has been working since 1974 as an advisor and director on many international forestry, agroforestry, and mining projects and on several international socio-economic programs of natural resources development. He has worked in many countries in Latin America (Honduras, Paraguay, Brazil, Mexico, El Salvador, Peru, Colombia, Dominican Republic, and Haiti) and Africa (Algeria, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Burkina Faso, Benin, Guinea Bissau, Senegal). Between 1995 and 2005, he contributed to the implementation of reforestation projects linked to the Kyoto Protocol, and clean technologies. A forest engineer by trade, Denis Buteau has a wide expertise in forestry, agroforestry, land development, watershed management, protected areas, and natural resource management, among others.
He is now the chief program officer in Peru and plays an important role in international project development and management at Viridis Terra International.
